I'm Shakira Willingale Haynes, a London based Designer, soon to graduate the University of Westminster as a Part I Architectural Assistant.

During the past four years I have experienced working in both architectural and interior design lead environments across London. My experience within the design industry has varied from global companies  such as Made.Com to Micro practice Studio Carver.

I am most engaged when tackling social issues and considering ways to improve the daily lives of the 'unconsidered client'. I believe that architecture has the potential to break down social barriers and connect members of different communities.

In my studies I have begun to explore the relationship of materiality, tactility and surface on clients experience and related emotive qualities. I have conducted this by creating architectural maquettes using textile techniques.
